  • Continuous fresh airflow ensures natural flavors and vibrant colors.
  • Insect-free design – tight seals protect the dryer from unwanted intruders.
  • Adjustable temperature range: 38–60 °C
  • UV-resistant construction designed for outdoor use. UV protection helps preserve the flavor, aroma, color, and beneficial properties of food and herbs.

Our dryer (also known as a dehydrator) operates using solar energy and works via air-drying. Therefore, the raw materials should be sliced or pureed before placing them inside to allow for proper airflow. The produce should be spread evenly on the trays.

The system combines solar thermal energy, which helps reach the required drying temperature (all sides of the dryer absorb heat), with solar electricity, which powers the fans.

The dryer features a constant flow of fresh warm air — up to 100 m³/hour — which means the air in the cabinet is replaced more than 10 times per minute. You can increase the temperature by reducing the fan speed.

Drying depends on nature
The dryer works solely with solar energy, so you’ll want to plan around the weather:

  • On sunny days, the dryer runs at full capacity.

  • On partly cloudy days, the process slows down.

  • On rainy or heavily overcast days, the dryer stops working — though the cabinet retains warmth for a while.

  • At night, the drying process pauses, but the cabinet prevents moisture from re-entering. The products are well preserved, and drying resumes automatically with the morning sun.

If the dryer temporarily stops, the food inside will remain safe — even for up to 24 hours. However, we recommend loading the dryer at least 4 hours before sunset to allow most of the moisture to evaporate before nightfall. This helps prevent spoilage and inhibits bacterial growth.

How long does drying take?
Drying time depends on the type of product, slice thickness (recommended: 2–5 mm), and weather. In Estonian conditions, it typically takes about 2 sunny days.

For example:
– Apple slices dry well within two sunny days. Morning is the best time to load them.
– Berries (e.g. currants, blueberries) should be pureed or halved to ensure airflow — drying takes up to 2 days.
– Flowers and herbs often require only 1 sunny day.

Manual and warranty included
Each dryer comes with a user manual that includes both technical information and practical drying tips.

All GlobeDry dryers come with a 2-year warranty.
The warranty is valid only when the dryer is used correctly. See our terms and conditions for details.
